Ssd startup issue

Good afternoon,

I installed an internal ssd on the computer and I'm having issues. Now sometimes (not always) when I turn the computer on I won't get it to boot up, to include just a black screen. Same thing when I restart, it will begin the restart sequence but then hang and not come out of the black screen unless I hold down the power button. I removed the internal ssd and the problem went away. I've also had issues of when the pc would not read the ssd but worked after I unplugged the hard drive and plugged it back in manually. I'm new to this please help. Thanks.

Is it an M.2 SSD or a 2.5" sata SSD?
Need to add an SSD of the same frequency.

1. Try using a different SSD to determine if there is a compatibility issue.
2. If it is an external hard drive, then it is advisable to add a power supply.
