I followed the steps exactly, the fan does accept my input from step 6, but it immediately goes back to factory setting. How do I make it permanent? I am using the BIOS from https://forum.alliwava.com/threads/alliwava-u58-ryzen-7-5800u-ami-bios.27/ with default settings.
Can only be tested, cannot be saved(We can only provide fixed values).
We will update and release a version of BIOS that integrates 3 power consumption options (high, medium and low), corresponding to the appropriate fan speed.

Can you please explain in detail how to update the EC file? As far as I read the file must be extracted to a USB flash drive, however the procedure differentiates between the vendors.
Also can you please explain how to update the provided BIOS after that, because the zip doesn't have a .bat-file to start the installation like the unlocked BIOS provided in the thread https://forum.alliwava.com/threads/alliwava-u58-ryzen-7-5800u-ami-bios.27/
I figured out, how to use this files.
ACB20_1.01_GRT_20240521:
1) unzip entire package to a folder.
2) You can find in this package: \ACB20_1.01_GRT_20240521\Win\ACB20101.exe
Just use under Windows File browser, right click and Run as Administrator. Just sit back and watch it update.

EC-ACB20-0.17-GRTID
1) unzip the entire package to a folder.
2) use an Usb Flash drive, format to fat32 and copy everything from zip to USB Flash drive.
-- following steps required to update BIOS to this version: ACB20_1.01_GRT_20240521 (details above)--
3) Restart the computer.
4) When you see AMI logo hit F2 and go to BIOS menu.
5) change boot sequence, USB Drive must be the first. Then Save and exit!
6) just wait and let booting from USB Flash drive.
7) You will see this first:

Here you have to see something like this: fs3 :Removable HardDisk

8) press any key, or wait 3 seconds... we need to run startup.nsh as it is by default.
9) then you will see this:

20250105_163040.jpg

It's ok. Just hit 'q' and enter!
10) you will get a prompt. Type: "fs3:" and hit enter! (if you seen before on fs3 your USB Flash Drive)
11) Type: "FEC64.NSH" and hit enter!
12) After EC updating finished your PC will be turn off automatically.
13) Remove your USB Flash Drive and restart your machine normally.

Voila! You got new version of fan control with quite fan.

You can change the power usage upper limit: BIOS> Advanced> Power Limit Select> Performance (25W)
You can also change the VRAM size: BIOS> Advanced> UMA Frame Buffer Size to 3GB

I did what u described above but my flashdrive will not boot. I copied all the files on a FAT32 formatted usb stick. Changed the BIOS setting to boot with usb first. But nothing helps.Schermafbeelding 2025-01-06 192658.png

Hmmm. Interesting.
Everything seems fine to me.

My USB port was the center one on the front panel (between the blue USB-A and USB-C) and nothing special in my usb stick.

You can find this view to compare with yours:
Win+R and type "diskmgmt.msc"
then right click here (to red circle):

Cannot remember, what was the default option for USB boot here in the bios, but maybe you should check this also:

Another screens from my BIOS:

If you have another USB stick, maybe you should give a try with that too.
I hope you'll find the solution.
